Because that thing is where your energy is going.

This is because your attention is like a bright light illuminating and energizing that which it is focused upon.

Today let’s look at a concept that comes to us from the philosopher, Aristotle.

This post is inspired by a talk I recently listened to by Dr. Jean Houston. If you’re not familiar with her, she’s worth looking up.

She brought up a concept coined by Aristotle – entelechy.

She described this as the “optimal form” that we each have the potential to realize.

I read Encycolopedia Britannica’s discussion of the term.

They quoted Aristotle as describing entelechy as “The realization of potential; That which realizes or makes actual what is otherwise merely potential.”

My mind makes the connection from here to Ayurveda.

Ayurveda teaches that we each carry an essence, a Light called the Purusha.

We could also call this our Spirit, or our Soul.

Whichever term works for you, is good.

Entelechy, Purusha, Soul / Spirit – all refer to the essence that we each carry, our greatest potential.

If we remove the dust and grime that the world has covered our light with, we uncover a source of energy that will sustain us through our days – this is the foundation of The Rhythmic Lifestyle.

When you place the power of your attention on the possibility of wellness, you begin moving towards it.

Your healthiest self is waiting to be uncovered.

Ayurvedic counseling is designed to assist you in this process.

It’s the journey of a lifetime, a culmination of your purpose on this earth – we all have one.

It may not be a big, flashy purpose.

It may be, as Dr. Houston says, “To live your life as if what you do matters. Put your life energy into the stream of time.”

Even if your purpose seems somewhat insignificant, there is really no such thing.

Each human has a beautiful potential that contributes to the energy of the whole on this planet.

Discovering your entelechy is a purpose in and of itself.

When you place your attention on concepts such as this, instead of letting it get grabbed and tossed this way and that, your life changes in profound ways.

Wishing you well on the journey,
