Self Talk is Powerful

“Life will give you whatever experience is most helpful for the evolution of your consciousness. How do you know this is the experience you need? Because this is the experience you’re having at the moment.”

– Eckhart Tolle

Dear Reader,

I know that getting an autoimmunity diagnosis is a real blow.

It takes the wind out of your sails.

Especially when you research about how autoimmunity is progressive, and that once you have one, more could follow down the road.

The good news is that it is possible to slow, and even halt, the autoimmune process.

The lifestyle pieces come together to create a tapestry of healing in your life, and what follows may feel like a miracle. It did for me.

Much of healing is about getting to know yourself.

You live out your life inside this one body, this one mind.

Understanding yourself is incredibly freeing.

Self talk is an area of your life that you can control.

But first you have to become the observer of your own thoughts.

Living with autoimmunity can make you feel distrustful of your body, and of yourself.

But, the truth is, nothing can change the fact that you are a field of infinite possibilities.

This is what Ayurveda teaches.

What happens is, the light within becomes obscured by the toxins of daily life.

These toxins are physical, as well as mental and emotional.

The Rhythmic Lifestyle is all about how clear away this toxic buildup.

Begin noticing the way you talk to yourself. Turn words of criticism into – first, a deep breath!

Then begin introducing new thoughts like: ‘Self, (or say your own name) you’re doing a really good job. There’s a lot going on right now. You’re managing so many things. And you’re doing the best that you can, and that’s enough. Take a deep breath.”

Literally say this out loud at the end of your day. And make sure that the breath is deep and nurturing, followed by another deep breath with an audible sigh on the exhale.

Wishing you a sense of inner calm,
