Dear Reader,
Every Thursday I send out this post, always on healing autoimmunity naturally.
What’s interesting is there are so many layers to healing autoimmunity.
One important layer involves stress. Stress is like gasoline on the autoimmune fire.
What is the water to put out this fire?
The cooling raindrops of Healing Lifestyle Practices.
A good one is The practice of hope for healing. But what is hope?

I recently came across a book called “The Book of Hope: A Survival Guide for Trying Times” by Jane Goodall and Douglas Abrams.
You’ve probably heard of Jane Goodall.
She is an author of many books, and a ‘naturalist’. She is 86 years old and has lived a life that stands out.
Her words are like fresh clear water to the parched soul.
The above quote stands out in the context of healing autoimmunity.
If you don’t have hope that you can get better, then you won’t make the necessary steps to healing.
But once you get started, your actions generate more hope.
Like a circular thing, your hope begins rolling and as it gains momentum, your healing accelerates.
I remember being in the throes of autoimmunity when the Hashimoto’s was at its worst.
The situation can be overwhelming.
If you feel tired, just know that it’s possible to feel rested again
If your skin is acting up, please know that it can be healed.
If you have stomach pains and digestive issues, this too can be resolved.
So please practice hope this weekend.
Like Jane Goodall explains, hope is an action word.
Take one consistent action toward your health this weekend, like setting aside 10 or 15 minutes with yourself in the morning, to just breathe and allow yourself to wake up slowly.
Don’t check your screens right away; instead allow your brain waves to naturally move from those of sleep to those of full daytime awareness.
There are brainwave stages to waking up in the morning, and taking it slow sets you up for a day where you are calmer.
Calm is one antidote to stress.
Like a soothing rain fall, each healing lifestyle choice you make calms the fire of autoimmunity.
Wishing you a nice long weekend,
