Dear Reader,

According to Ayurveda, the art of healing related to Yoga, you can awaken your own healing power.

We each have a purpose in life.

Some of us have big obstacles to overcome, such as an autoimmunity diagnosis. The higher the obstacle, the more potential for transformation there is in overcoming it.

When you look at your diagnosis from a new perspective, you enter the realm of possibility. You step into the beginning of a beautiful transformation.

Disease is a cue that something in our lifestyle needs adjusting.

When we view the diagnosis as the starting point for transforming our lives, we have stepped onto the path of healing.

Changing your lifestyle is powerful. It gives you the power to forge gold from the misery of your autoimmune condition.

Today’s tip has to do with mental health.

We live in a stimulation based society, yet we have an epidemic of depression.

One reason is that the over stimulation leads to mental burn out.

Every impression must be digested on a subtle level.

In The Rhythmic Lifestyle, the first thing we do is look at foundational lifestyle patterns such as diet, herbs, supplements, sleep habits (including quality of sleep), exercise, and daily and monthly rhythms.

The next place I’d like to teach you to shine the light of your awareness on is the sensory impressions you take in, such as information and entertainment.

It’s OK to read or watch news, movies, and informational content.

However, if we overdo the intake of information and impressions, a residue of undigested or misunderstood impressions forms over the mind. This residue leads to depression.

Yoga and Ayurveda offer many tools to heal this.

Today, I give you a simple one.

Pay attention to how much information you consume this week. Dialing it back, especially in the hour or two before bed, is powerful.

Giving your mind time to process all that has happened during the day without another onslaught of impressions works wonders.

Options include listening to soothing music, practicing gentle yoga, taking a bath, writing in your journal, and just breathing deeply for a few minutes before bed.

Wishing you a week where you offer yourself an hour of peace and self care before bed each evening.

Warmly,

Amanda
